On May 7–8th 2026, the K.G. Jebsen Centre for Myeloid Blood Cancer CMYC, led by Professor Bjørn Tore Gjertsen, organized for the first time an interactive workshop on the topic of statistics in clinical studies. The aim of the workshop was to bring together clinicians, researchers, and statisticians to strengthen collaboration and facilitate exchange of experiences across disciplines.
The event was held in excellent surroundings in the Proton Building at Haukeland University Hospital and received positive feedback from participants.
We would like to express special thanks to Nina Louise Jebsen, Amy Kirkwood, and Ourania Dafni for contributing as speakers. Jebsen is an Associate Professor, oncologist and head of the Clinical Research Unit at Haukeland University Hospital, project manager for the NorCRIN secretariat, and a collaborator in CMYC.
Kirkwood is a statistician and Associate Professor in clinical cancer studies at University College London and the Cancer Research UK Cancer Trials Centre.
Ourania Dafni is a Professor of Biostatistics and Head of the Laboratory of Biostatistics at the Faculty of Nursing, School of Health Sciences, University of Athens (since 1998), as well as a visiting professor at the University of Lausanne (since 2018).

🇳🇴 Workshop: statistikk i kliniske studier
7.- 8. mai 2026 arrangerte K.G. Jebsen senter for myeloid blodkreft CMYC, ledet av professor Bjørn Tore Gjertsen, for første gang en interaktiv workshop med tema statistikk i kliniske studier. Målet med workshopen var å samle klinikere, forskere og statistikere for å styrke samarbeidet og legge til rette for erfaringsutveksling på tvers av fagmiljøer.
Arrangementet ble avholdt i flotte omgivelser i Protonbygget ved Haukeland universitetssjukehusog fikk svært gode tilbakemeldinger fra deltakerne.
Vi ønsker å rette en særlig takk til Nina Louise Jebsen, Amy Kirkwood og Ourania Dafni som bidro som foredragsholdere. Jebsen er førsteamanuensis, onkolog og leder ved Klinisk Forskningspost, Haukeland universitetssjukehus, prosjektleder for NorCRIN-sekretariatet samt samarbeidspartner i CMYC.
